The Worry Of Becoming Self Obsessed

What is the difference between self improvement and recovery compared to just being self obsessed?

Admittedly I have always dealt with stuff by avoiding conflict and ignoring things. So adressing them is not something I’m entirely comfortable with. But at what point do you stop? Is it a fine line between being self aware and becoming a self obsessed bore? Is this how narcissists start out?

Perhaps my anxiety is just at work and I worry too much?
